First things first – congratulations to Ash Sutton on claiming his fourth BTCC Driver’s Championship: A friend of Cobra Seats and a credit to the sport, his style of racing is exhilarating and he is a very deserving champion.
Congratulations, too, to Tom Ingram and to Jake Hill who made this year’s chase for the BTCC Drivers Championship such an enthralling battle that went down to the final meeting of the season.
It was no coincidence – and totally appropriate - that in the first two races at Brands Hatch, Sutton and Ingram finished first and second, while in the final race of this year’s BTCC Championship Jake Hill took the honours with an audacious manoeuvre, throwing his BMW on to the grass on the outside of the high speed Westfield Corner to go three abreast and move from third to first place.
